After settling in Jonas briefed us on our map, then saddled us up in his dingy for a quick trip up the canals and to the middle of town. After a night out a comfy bed engulfs us. Jonas Houseboat in Amsterdam was a charming, off-beat place on the water within easy walking distance from the main station. Jonas was a very pleasant host and the other guests were friendly. One morning we were even greeted by three ducks who clamored for breakfast outside our window. My 14-year-old son thought the houseboat was really cool too. less

If you have a group of 3 or 4 and you're looking for a really unique spot to stay in Amsterdam, you have to stay here! So much character, so much room and everything you need, including a minibar with beers and snacks for €1 each! Very close to everything too - station, red light district, etc. Highly recommended. less

We had the 5 person private apartment which was in a good location near the train station and the red light district. Its a nice set up if you want something a little more private than a shared dorm. No reception makes life difficult. To give us phone number to make an international call (I'm not from Nethernlands!) "to solve the problems'n'give info" doesn't help. No cleaning during the three days I was there.

Hostel was overall really impressive. location was very ideal right in the city centre near bus/train station, staff were lovely and so helpful one guy in particular and i would definitely stay here again, its no wonder why they're always sold out on weekends!
