I had a great stay here andwold definitley recommend it to anyone. It's perfect for a little peace and quiet but really central too if you want some night life. The couple that run the hostel are absolutely lovely, so so helpful and if you are really lucky you might even get treated towendy's homemade meat pie! less

The owners of this hostel are exceptionally kind and are fantastic hosts. The day we checked out we weren\'t catching our coach until late in the afternoon. They let us go out and leave our bags and even let us have a shower when we got back.
About a 20 min walk from city centre but the walk there is v.pretty and it is close to a big supermarket. We also had a \"Sausage Sizzle\' night provided by the owners which was great! less

great place to stay, especially if you're looking to meet people! staff are friendly and helpful, big kitchen/lots of places to socialize. only unfortunate thing is the rooms are not very soundproof so you can hear clearly whenever someone slams their door. also, they forgot to clear the soap that the previous guests had used in the bathroom. Location is fairly good, a close walk to a bus depot and across the street from Cole's and a bunch of restaurants. would definitely stay here again! less

Absolutely gorgeous place - like a stately home!! Twin room turned out to be a bunk, but the place was really clean, with lovely leather couches in the big sitting room, a big kitchen, a PS3 (!!!) and FREE INTERNET!! Not a backpacker place, more of a student house, but a really nice place to stay, walking distance (10 mins) from South Bank and (15mins) from CBD and around the corner from West End. Recommended! less

very nice hostel, no wonder it won the golden backpacker thing :) located between clubs and city centre, it's max. 10-15min to everything. good prices, weekly available, staff was VERY friendly and helpful. the birdienumnum bar is a bit expensive but there are games every evening and in the afternoon there are games like soccer tournament/tabletennis etc. one of the best (or maybe THE best) hostel if stayed in australia yet, RECOMMENDED!! :) less

This is run most of the time by backpackers, so they know what to expect. They are very professional and efficient, fun and honest. There is a great mix of people here at the moment, includig a lot of Irish, which I@ve never come across before, maybe they like the weather here, lots of sun and no rain. It is a bit of a walk uphill to the hostel but not too bad, I'm an old guy, 66 and I can do it easily. There are good pubs and supermarket close my, even a movie house with art movies. less

The rooms are very small, DO NOT have a TV, refrigerator or a night table. We had a 3 private, it looked like a cell. The one window could not be opened, the room was about 8ftx8f with 3 beds, hardly any room to move around and nothing to hang our clothes on or put books or things on.
It was completely opposite from the other hostels i've stayed at during my trip.
