I loved this place so much, I ended up spending almost an extra week in Cairo. The rooms are very nice and clean and the location is convenient to all of the places of interest you would want to visit in Cairo. The staff is so friendly and really knowledgeable about the different types of tours you can take all over Egypt. Whether they are making you coffee or teaching you some arabic, the Brothers Hostel feels like a home. Many thanks for making my stay so much fun -- less

Brothers Hostel really is one of the best hostels I have stayed in. The rooms and shared bathrooms are spotlessly clean, the free breakfasts/ teas/ coffees/ airport pickup are great and it\'s right in the centre of downtown Cairo (on the 4th floor of a really cool old building). Best of all are the genuinely friendly staff, who really go out of their way to make sure that you have a good stay ( Mohamed deserve a special mention, but they are all really nice). In conclusion, stay here!! less

Was pressured by the owner when we arrived to book day trips with the hostel and wouldnt let us to our room till we booked trips. The owners exchange rate is way off too, so watch out. Location is so-so since Cairo is so large. The day trips we took were several hours shorter than was told. We were only given 1 hour at the Pyramids/Sphynx. The rooms were full of flying bugs. Dont let them do your laundry, $27 USD a load, plus they were still dirty and missing clothes. I would never stay again. less

Cecilia was great! Great staff who are always willing to help in any way to create the best experience for us. Tours organized though Cicilia were always fairly priced and with helpfull friendly guide & the tea and turkish coffee was always a plenty. Location in Downtown is great, with 10EGP getting you most places in the city. Happy Days! less

No tragic flaws. Perfect location, clean, staffed 24 hours, not by token transient travelers, but by functional useful staff.
They were reliable, helpful and knew how to take care of their clients.
Rare to encounter a Hostel that is both fun yet professional. The drivers were on time, the tours were perfect and fairly priced and if you had a need or a want, they were able to produce.
Staff were the best anywhere and I will be back when I return

This is the perfect hostel with one fatal flaw (one that i'm pretty sure they're already well aware of). Mosquitos. They really need to get that sorted out. If that doesn't phase you then this will probably be one of the best budget hotels/hostels you'll ever stay at. The staff are the best you'll come across and provide a welcome relief from the constant hassle and chaos of the rest of cairo. less

I have some friends who stayed previously at alexander hostel and recommend it for me and told me about many good things and after my stay I found what they told me was not enough because the hostel and all of its staff and quality is like 3 stars hotel not a hostel so the price I have paid was less than the service I received also the owner Mr/ Haitham is realy good manager as well as very good friend to his employers and the hotel guests, I will never forget this great place,,,, thanks. less

Pay for what you get, but staff made my stay enjoyable and so it was good value for money.
