This is without doubt one of the best hostels I have stayed in, including Europe and parts of Africa! The staff were amazing, and they happily upgraded us for free whilst providing us with amazing food and company. Luis the cook is one of the funnest guys around! MANY THANKS to Monica, Joshua, Julio, Pedro and everyone at Hostel Quetzal for a GREAT stay! The complimentary breakfasts by chef were ultra fresh and delicious. Joshua is AMAZING at helping make everyone's vacation dreams come true. THANK YOU SO MUCH JOSHUA! The Chichen Itza/Ek Bahlam trip with Monica was FIRST RATE and a great value. Good if you need to crash somewhere very close to the bus station. Otherwise, it's a bit of a dump. The breakfast is awful--cold cereal, two pieces of white bread toast, and a hard boiled egg. Our shared bathroom had no toilet paper. The lockers are weird--they're large and roomy, but there's no backside to them, so someone can just reach around back and grab whatever they want. Why? I probably would've gone elsewhere had I been staying in Cancun longer than one night. less

But it can be a bit noisy at night, when guests are partying, because the walls are quite thin.

Rumon is a lovely gracious host - who treated me so well - even took me to bus. i would highly reccomend it for that reason. There is a fantastic cafe around the corner for breakfast that Rumon reccomended. Its really close to the airport bus. I would not recommend this hostel. When I got there, it smelled very bad and looked unclean. My room was a mess and unclean, and the toilet was aweful. I had to change rooms and this was no better, I just had to leave and the staff would not refund my money or help me in anyway. I have stayed in many hostels and this is the worse. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSTEL. less
