Excellent hostel. Sarah and Kate were great hosts and I already want to go back. It is a great place to chill out for a few days.

by far the best hostel I've stayed in in Europe. Reception is only open part of the time but that is because the Hostel is a one woman operation and she is very helpful & welcoming. More like staying at a friends house than a hostel. Very reasonably priced as well. less

Nice little penzion. Nothing special, but everything was nice. Lovely breakfast, warm and comfortable beds and the owners are a lovely young couple. We enjoyed our time in Cesky. A hidden gem of Europe. less

We originally planned to stay for two days but ended up spending the week! A lovely place in a beautiful town.. the staff could not have been more helpful and always made us feel at home. Disappointment. Checkout was at 10 but reception didn't show up till close to 11 either of the days we stayed and didn't tell us about the permit we'd need to drive in the city even after we asked. They call it cozy because the common area is crowded with 3 people. It's more like half a breakfast nook. To be fair the rooms were clean and safe but Merlin has no character. I wish we had stayed somewhere else, like an attic loft. It would have been friendlier and more spacious. less

We got locked out of our building once, where the door was bolted from the inside, and we had to have roommates come to let us in- and it was only 10:30 at night! This also happened to our roommates one night, again, fairly early. Yet during the day, the rooms were left open and unlocked- at least they had lockers in the room! The reception closing at nine was a big pain, and they were very rude to us when we called to explain our transportation was running late and lost. less
