Clean, colourful, excellent value for money. Great location - walking distance of most major sights and a stone\'s throw from Sompet Markets where you can have delicious affordable meals (esp. the fruit juice stall and grilled fish). Super-friendly staff were most helpful, and there is a nice outdoors area for lounging/mingling/eating/napping. Almost nothing to fault - only areas for improvement are the slightly inconvenient door locking system (but security less

Extremely nice, helpful and reliable staff, one of them gave us a free lift on her scooter (we rode in 3 :): her, my girlfriend and I). Excellent value for money in Chiang Mai, decorated with artistic taste, I would definitely come back. Delicious cafe served in adjacent cafe \"Cat\".
Area maybe not touristic and not in the center, but lot of Thai night life just round the corner and no farangs. less

After hearing that hostels/hotels inside of the main gate were a bit touristy, we decided to book with Banilah (which is a 5 min tuktuk from the city walls, and a 3 min tuktuk from an incredibly charming shopping/restaurant street to the northeast). After hostel-hopping across 20 countries, I can honestly say I have never received better service and enjoyed my stay more anywhere else. Any time we needed a tuktuk, one was at the door in 2 minutes (and the staff w less

It was an awesome place to stay although it is a little far from the Night Bazaar and most of the bars. You can rent a bike for 50 B and it only takes 5 minutes to ride across town. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The people are fantastic and the garden is really relaxing. less
