I spent 3 nights at the Bahaus Hostel and the hostel certainly exceeded my expectations. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the common area is a great place to hang out and meet people. I would definitely recommend this hostel to travelers. Additionally, the location is great as it is close to all the popular attractions in Istanbul.

A very nice hostel. Very clean and safe, great showers, comfy beds with clean linen. The view from the terrace bar is unrivalled amd worth the price of a bed alone. the best hostel ive ever stayed in. rooms are spacious & airy, facilities are clean and location is perfect: tram stop nearby & a short stroll to the blue mosque & hagia sophia.
what sets this hostel apart from others ive stayed in is the staff and the atmosphere.. we felt like we were just hanging out in a friends house (what other hostel has a puppy!!). everyone is amazingly helpful & friendly & the rooftop terrace was a great place to meet other travellers.
would recommend to anyone! less

This is an excellent location that you can call home for your stay in Istanbul. Have been here almost two weeks and love it. Excellent breakfast, friendly/helpful staff, comfortable beds and toilets are super clean! i have stayed in Istanbul many times and this was the least pleasant stay. Our room was next to reception and after the upstairs recreation room shut, people went downstairs and were extremely noisy. The staff did not stop people making noise or move them elsewhere and it was impossible to sleep. The staff also didnt seem to be in possession of accurate facts and did not know the best way to get to the airport. They also did not have enough towels so we were unable to have showers. less

I'm not sure what the average level of cleanliness is for a hostel, because this was the first one that I've visited. But the bathrooms could have used more regular cleaning and the floors vacuuming. If a top sheet is not used, the blankets should be washed more often. But in general it was not too bad. We had a double room with shared bathroom. The room was basic but good enough. We only had to share the bathroom with one other room. Not much of a hostel vibe but does have a common area with computers and a kitchen. I thought the hostel was good value, was clean and the staff were great. Easy to get to from airport and bus station using public transport even with our packs. A good place for a short stay in the Asian side of Istanbul. The major problem is the lack of lockers or secure boxes for individual's use. Another problem may be, during crowded days, a few bathrooms would not be enough. My stay was during a cold and rainy weekend, so the level of fun was quite low. But I am sure, thanks to its surroundings and nice guests, the hostel would be a great place to have fun and joy. less

I cannot speak highly enough of the Marmara Guesthouse. The location is excellent being vry close to many of the Cultural sites and easy walking to many others. The Marmara offer airport pick ups which was efficient and worth every penny, saving us time on our 4 day visit. Our room which we paid a bit extra had a view of the sea.
