There are a lot of board game in the common area, which is geat.
However, the hostel will be closed between 12:30 and 16:30, and you can\'t go in your room, nor the kitchen and dinning room. People there are nice. There are not much sockets, so it is better for you to take the extension cord. It is not difficult to get to the hostel, but don;t expected to be very close to the bus stop. It take about 7 mins for walking up the old lake road. Afterall, it just cost £17 pppn. less

i have been going to ambleside yha, for many years, even though i work for john lewis and could stay at their hotel, just a few hundred yards away, their is a massive improvement in the bed situation, much more comfortable, i was disturbed by three blokes who had been to the pub and came back about midnight, then they got up at 5am with lots of snoring in between.the young girl receptionist had a lovely smile, that makes all the difference.i go to this hostel once /twice a year less

Whole place needs a complete refurbish. Very basic and outdated place. Not a comfortable place to be in.

No actual staff was there though a friend of the owner lives there for now and helps out a bit like advising what to see in the area. The code for the front door works, just have to email the owner for it. less

There is only one shower head available during my staying, the upper floor shower is not functioning, therefore create a massive queue of people in the morning waiting for shower. Other than that, it was worth while to stay as everything is about self-service.. Would stay there again if i am going to windermere again..!! less
