Excellent new place!
Extremely friendly & helpfull owners, big rooms, wonderfull hot showers and very clean (few stains in bathroom are leftover from construction, so can't be removed) with the most comfortable beds in China! Set in a lovely building.
If there is a downpoint it would be that there are not so many guests so the very nice common room is empty most of the time.

We stayed at the Luminn hostel from 17 - 21 november.The hostel is in a quiet part of the old city and only 5 minutes away from the center. The couple who runs the place are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and clean and the shower is all the time very warm.
You ask them anything and they will help you to provide it.
I had a lovely time there and I will certainly come back when I'm in Lijiang. I will highly recommend this place to everybody.

The location in the eastern part of the old town is ideal for those who prefer to live in some more authentic neighbourhood than the central part of it where you will have to encounter dozens of Chinese tour groups. To the centre it's a nice 5 to 10 minutes walk through the old town. Taxis can get there but not all drivers accept to take you into the old town and might drop you of anywhere on the borders to it. less

Very difficult to find with the web site explications if you don't have the adress in Chineese. The dorms are far to be confortable. This is cheap but you will sleep on very hard sleeper and in a noisy place. Twin rooms seem to be more confortable. But the location is perfect, at the end of the touristic street and at the beginning of the real chineese town. less

Great location, cool setup but could definitely do with a better place to watch dvds than in the reception doorway, also no real bar or restaurant. Maybe get that big fireplace started as its starting to get nippy. Good price for airport pickup but double the price for taking you to attractions (same distance). Booking *private car*for a *whole day* means they will take you and pick up from site only (very unclear). Argued with reception girl about this- she gave us major attitude.
