Rooms are small but clean, quiet, and very efficiently air-conditioned. The "shared bath" is actually three small bathroom / shower rooms -- no waiting. The tasty foreign and local breakfasts are free. And free wi-fi is augmented by freely available computers. Colin, the manager, is a knowledgeable, helpful host -- and a 5th generation resident of Melaka. This guest house is a mini-museum and is within walking distance of many of the major sights. I'll go back again, happily. less

The staff make this place amazing! The building is simple - painted concrete floors, painted walls - some not even painted. But it's airy and clean. The bed is the most comfortable bed EVER and I wish I could have taken it with me :-) Nice communal atmosphere. Not a party hostel though. Great location. less

Great location, great host, secure rooms. Sam has done his best to maintain the original character and quirks of the building.
The beds themselves are not fantastic (seriously Sam, buy some boards to go between the mattresses and the bedsprings - or just some better mattresses) but we would still go back there. FYI the toilet is a squat one however that seems to be the norm in Malacca (and many parts of Malaysia). less

This is a very poor hostel by my relatively low standards! Its very far to the centre and the shopping malls, but close to the most pathetic china town ive ever seen! Staff were busy! But he was ok and had a good heart. The place good do with a massive spring clean, maybe removing some of the bugs and general dirt! Probably wouldnt stay there again. less

Ringo\'s was a great place to stay except for the BEDBUGS in the dorm room \'7Up\'! Over like 80 bites that are itching like hell right now. Staff was super helpful when they were around, which was not always. Lockers that didn\'t lock and no key for dorm room, but location was great and DVD player and roof top were nice. The staff didn\'t know as much as they let on, and getting a bus late at night to KLIA should be done with lots of time to spare and with the aid of a taxi to Sentral. less

We enjoyed our stay and would go back as it is located in the historical area of Melaka. We where fortune to be staying Saturday night when the streets come alive with a vendor's market. When staying in room #1 be prepared for loud music from the shop below, I believe Saturday night is the only late night (11pm?) was not a problem for us. We arrived about 8 pm on Fri (no music) The host kindly took us for a short walk pointing out a few places to eat...Our absolute favorite - Nancy less

The boss was very good and helpful with all our needs. Highly recommanded!!! Good location as well.
However, the staff needs to be able to give more details when conveying messages. The staffs were helpful but due to their limited English, they missed out certain critical details.
Other than that, all was well. Will definitely stay with them again if I am back. Will also recommend them to friends. less
