It wasn't bad apparently, but the shower was too small and there were only two of them, and i could see lots of hairs in the blanked. It was okay becuase there werent too many people in 20-dorm room, but i think it would be hard to stay there during the summer unless they make more room for the shower. Wouldnt stay there again but not too bad for the price. less

Really homely place. Based in a very good place to see the sights. The building itself has a lot of character. I stayed in the 20 bed dorm, which didn't feel cramped due to the clever layout and it still gave you some privacy. During my stay, there wasn't an awful lot of other guests, and I can imagine that when it's under full occupancy that it can be quite cramped. During low season it is an excellent place to stay. less

Good location but room was disappointingly small. The ceiling was quite low and you could have easily have had a nasty accident with the fan directly above the bed (which you had to sign a waiver for upon check in). Despite the good location though, it was a bit overpriced for what you were getting. However Jak was friendly, considerate and helpful in giving us information on the best places to visit in Montreal. We stayed 3 nights and didn't have our sheets or towels changed once. less

GREAT. JAK the owner, was so generous - we didn\'t arrive until 1:15am, he met us with a smile and even took the time to go over maps/parking/restaurants with us so late! Location is fantastic on St. Catherine; ate at 5 delicious restaurants within a few minutes walk and it’s extremely quiet so we slept very peacefully. JAK keeps the place immaculately clean. Big windows, very cheerful. We are 2 energetic 23 y/o who were interested in exploring the city/fun/food/beers/sleep - it was perfect!! less

This hostel has been the best experience in my travels so far. The staff are extremely friendly and add to the fun relaxed vibe of this converted apartment complex.
The breakfasts are brilliant and perfect for mixing with fellow travelers in the open common area.
The place is clean and I never had feelings of insecurity. Due to well thought out security.
The only bad thing is the quality of pillows. I would recommend to bring your own, unless you mind the feeling of plastic while you sleep. less
