The staff at HM Hostel Moscow were friendly and very helpful about what to see and do. The hostel is in an excellent location and I could walk to all the sights easily. The only downside was that I had booked a female room as I was travelling alone, but was put into a mixed room without being informed. So good was this hostel I stayed here nine nights. The hostel is owned and managed by two great guys, and along with the friendly staff, they make it a very enjoyable stay. The beds in the dorms were excellent; wooden and sturdy. The kitchen is clean and the common room is always full of great characters. The location is a ten minute walk from Red Square and is very close to some great bars and nightclubs. Would definitely recommend Napoleon Hostel. Keep up the good work. less

Staff not able to enforce hostel rules. A big problem if you want to sleep but are unlucky with roommates. Had 3 German soccer fans in a 4-bed dorm room who came in at 3am, kept the light on and made noise for an hour despite warnings from the staff, then left, only to return drunk at 6am and make noise again, sing Deutschland uber alles. As they were going to stay another night (the night of their match...), I suggested to the staff to kick them out due to the previous night, but it didn't less

The bed was not that comfortable and they should provide more blankets, it would be nice to consider the need of travelers who are not used to freezing cold weather. The direction to the hotel given in the website is confusing for the first time travelers to Moscow, we didnt know that the train stations were connected. less

Yellow Blue Bus was a good place to stay. Location was handy, but there was not much atmosphere. We stayed in a double room which was in a different flat to the actual hostel and the staff weren't that helpful with things like tours and visas so come prepared with what you want to do.
Very clean and you are left to your own devices. less
