The CPA Center is a great place to stay. A little distance from town, but they can arrange taxis. Be sure to do that as others charge 2-3x more. Travel in Kenya is safe.

The building is a bit old, but the room was very large and clean. The 'Satellite TV' in the room was of your standard African offering, 3 channels that actually work with 2 of them being 24-hour football(soccer)and the 3rd channel a local feed featuring African Rap Music Stars. The buffet dinner was nothing to get excited about, but was adequate and nourishing for the money(around US$10.00 I believe). The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I enjoyed my 1 night stay there! less

This hotel is very good for the budget but don't expect it to be first class. The staff are nice and helpful but the hotel is a bit worn in places. The room doors never feel totally secure. Having said that... The gardens are nice and the pool always looked well cared for. The breakfasts are a bit hit and miss but the chef does lovely food in the evening. The room was always spotlessly clean and they are trying to build up the hotel again. So if you are looking for somewhere cheap and clean this hotel is very reasonable and I would recommend it. Its about a 15 minute walk from Nairobi City Centre. Its an easy walk during the day but I wouldn't suggest walking back to it after dark. less

I cannot recommend Hibiscus, the hotel has a dismal, funeral-parlour atmosphere and there was no hot water from the shower for the entire three days of my stay plus little electric shocks from the taps ! No TV in the room. They also have an irritating habit of locking the main door so you have to ask permission to get out. The manager is friendly enough but in a rather unctuous and unconvincing way less
