There is big living room with a kitchen to cook, a traditional bathroom with a huge deep bath! Up to 4 peoples is ok. The landlord are also very very nice. Any one welling to go to Nikko to see the waterfalls, the lake and the temples, this is the place to go for your accommodation!!! Please give my regards to the landlord!! Best Regards Eric Rousseau - France close

Quite a walk from the station but very close to sights and location of cottage more than makes up for the walk. Fantastic stay here; the lady that runs it is very sweet and very helpful. The best place we have stayed in Japan! close

The place was small with only a few rooms so it really gave the feeling of being a guest in someone's home. The couple who run the minshuku were exceptionally kind and friendly. A suggestion for other travelers would be to take them up on the offer to be picked up at the station... walking is up a fairly steep hill (not bad on foot but a lot of work with luggage). I would definitely stay here again. close

Don`t be put off by the dirty hall rug (though it would be nice if they would clean it!). The room and bathroom were very clean, breakfast was good, and staff was very helpful. The Japanese style rooms have tatami mats, but regular twin beds, not futon. close

Hostel room was fairly simple but spacious; the staff was able to pump hot spring water to the room for you to experience the ONSEN without compromising your privacy in the basement public bath. Staff was very helpful, friendly and they spoke mandarin. Environment was serene and quiet, and the charges were very affordable. They even had a Chinese restaurant at the hotel. close

The location was excellent, very easy to find off the bus from Nikko, and right next to the lake.
They did not have my reservation, however, and therefore the deposit that I was charged on hostelworld.com did not go to my stay. Also, they price for the mixed dorm was more like 22 dollars, rather than 15, because they automatically charge you for use of the onsen.
