It's my first time backpacking alone and I felt very safe at Golden Mango.
Sony, the Manager at Golden Mango made sure that I was not overcharged for tuk-tuk rides and even offered to bring me out for drinks when he noticed that I have been staying in after dark. :D
Overall, I feel Golden Mango is value for money. It is spotless (clean my room daily) and provides excellent laundry service. Staff are friendly and speaks good English (better than mine!)
Would definitely return! :D less

This was the best place I have stayed in 8 months of travel. Even the more expensive places were not as good as the Golden Mango. I've noticed that some people don't think the location is good but I prefer it over the "tourist area" that is in the town center. There is also a huge market within a 2 minute walk. If you go to Siem Reap, you must stay here. The restaurant on site is also very good and has great prices. less

The staff at Siem Reap were very attentive and extremely helpful. They offer bicycle rent for $2 per day, which are charity bikes and a free bus pick up. When there were issues with the email communications, they facebooked me and we were able to easily communicate. A really lovely, clean place, with great restaurant and bar out back to chill out in. less

could never get service at the bar, and be careful of the computers there! they all have viruses and are amazingly slow! nearly lost my usb of photos but realised just in time (managed to clean the virus at next place i stayed thankfully - but spoke to someone else there who lost everything). currently undergoing very noisy renovations. less

More like a hotel than a hostel! Rooms are big and cleaned spotless daily, sheets and towels even replaced, and the beds are very comfortable. As everyone else has said, the staff are wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast is simple but excellent. Free goodies like pool table and wi-fi are a plus.
Paranoid people might not like that they ask you to leave your keys when you go out. 10 minute walk to town center, on a great street full of restaurants and shops.
Would gladly stay again! less
