And one toilet was plugged half the time, and one wasn't working at all. Security.. well to get in the main after hours, the back door was open and i could get in without my key. It is not expensive and they have a lot to offer besides a bed. There are discounts on activities, dinner and drink vouchers and free internet and breakfast. I stayed in a two person room when I was here, and it was large, nice and clean. The only thing I didn\'t enjoy about this hostel was the loud people outside periodically throughout the night, but thats not the hostel\'s fault and comes with the territory of being in Kings Cross. Was a bit of a walk to the main attractions but overall the best hostel I've stayed at - great rooms! Oh, the shower stalls were really good too! When i had a compliant they dealt with it straight away and switched my room without any issue and without extra charge. the people are friendly, if you get the right room and the hostel is pretty well located-5 minute walk from kings cross train station and 20 minutes walk from town. potts point is really nice area to stay in too, especially when you compare it to kings cross down the road. the staff are excellent. closeKine (from Norway), April 2008: Had the best time ever at the blue parrot!! Main problem (and why we would not stay again) is because the communal areas are far too small for the amount of people staying. Kitchen tiny and not enough utensils or space to cook, tv room is actually a tv in the corridor which is frequently used as a bypass to people's rooms.
