The atmosphere wasn\'t really there though. It\'s too big for that. And the age range is too big - lots of kids and old folk.
There isn\'t really an adventure feel to it and they don\'t go to much effort with activities, group trips, socialising etc.. If you\'re a younger backpacker, I\'d look elsewhere - Wake Up (across the street) or in Kin lessschnerbazoink (Globetrotter from Australia), October 2009:

Charging for storing bags on the departure day is bad form. I've never seen any other hostel do that. Otherwise I was very happy with this place - it's very clean, and quite well located. My room was fairly normal, rather than train-styled. less

The hostel itself was good enough, however I really disliked the location. Its an "alternative" area which is cool if you like that kind of thing; it just wasn't for me though. There's a good link to the city via train which only takes about 10 mins and it'll take you right into Sydney CBD! I LOVED the Blue Parrot..in a great location and everyone was SO friendly. It's a smaller hostel, which is nice because it makes it very easy to meet people and make friends. They are great at organizing activities for the day and night and really made me feel at home. Definitely a hostel I would return to! less

She knows who you are and if you are looking for a job she's on it with advice to getting one. this hostel is about an hour bus journey from the city and when you get there your greeted by Drew by far the rudest person ive met while travelling so unhelpful and non respondent to females, i needed to get my boyfriend to stand beside me before she would acknowledge i was at reception. also they advertise free bike and tea and coffee none of which where available to us on our stay. this hostel probably has good potential just change the staff. less
