Miguel gave us some excellent recommendations for meals, and also provided a lovely breakfast each am. would definitely recommend for any-one wanting to do Ypres/Battlefields etc. close

They have been virtually full all season, in spite of bad weather.
They made us feel really welcome and Liz in particular is knowledgeable about all the commemorations for WWI.
We would certainly be happy to return and I plan to recommend them to fellow members of the Guild of Battlefield Guides for recce trips, easy parking. close

Anyway, the building was lovely, and the rooms well cared for and well equipped – I have paid far more for far lower quality hotels. Breakfast was excellent, fresh eggs straight from the chicken and very sociable sat down around a table for pleasant conversation with other guests. The landlady was very friendly and helpful, helped us set up our day’s itinerary, and even welcomed us with a beer and a lovely chat when we arrived weary from travel. I couldn’t ask for more! If anything I’d say that the location is a bit in-the-styx, as there’s nothing nearby that’s open in the evening, but then, isn’t most of Belgium like that? I’d very happily stay there again. close
