About The Mango Tree
Located in one of the best spots in Rio, The Mango Tree is a newly renovated 1930's colonial style house in a quiet residential area 1 block from the world famous Ipanema beach, where we offer a relaxing place to sleep, meet other travellers, and sip a chilled caipirinha. At The Mango Tree you will find the comforts of a guest house (sprung mattresses, 100% cotton sheets, towels, a real Brazilian style breakfast) with the warm welcome and atmosphere of a backpacker hostel.
We offer a relaxed and tranquil escape from the frantic pace of Rio de Janeiro, and , while we are on the doorstep of all it's exciting nightlife, our hostel is a quiet place to get a good nights sleep.
Our house has 8 double rooms ( 5 with en-suite, all air-conditioned ), 26 dorm beds, and all of the facilities to make your stay with us the most memorable of your trip.
Start each day by enjoying your breakfast outside in our covered dining area before heading out for a day of sightseeing, adventure sports, or simply lazing around on Ipanema beach, which is only 50 metres away. On returning, why not sit around the garden sipping on capirinhas or fall asleep in a hammock underneath the mango tree. Check your email on our free internet access, enjoy DVD's in the common room, or sit in the lobby and enjoy a game with your friends.
We are a short walk away from the restaurants and bars of Ipanema and Copacabana, including the Garota de Ipanema (Girl From Ipanema) where the famous song was written.

IMPORTANT: If making a resevation for New Year or Carnival 2008 there are minimum stays required. We also require advance payment in full, the details on how to do this will be emailed to you after you have made your reservation.
