Essence Arenal is located in El Castillo, 20 minutes from La Fortuna, on the lava flowing side of the Arenal Volcano. Surrounded by two National Parks, Arenal and Monteverde, our 100 acres property is rich in flora & fauna, which can be appreciated in amazing jungle sites and trails. With a strategical location for adventure and eco-activities!

Essence Demo Cuisine is a meat free restaurant that gets everyone involved with the food. We show our international guest about local products and present them in a non-traditional way. Our chef Isaac Weliver (The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago) prepares 3 gourmet vegetarian dishes not only in your presence but with your participation.
Example of demo cuisine thematic nights: Pappardelle from Scratch, Naan, Nampí-Gnocchi, Crêpes, Maki Rolls, "Cream of Method" for Soups, Dessert Flambé, Calzone, Sicilian style Eggplant Parmesan , Spring Rolls.
