This is Mix, I like traveling as everybody, I've traveled to many places in and out China, the experience I gained from my travels is definitely helpful in running a hostel, because I can "physically" understand what we travelers really need when we are looking for an accommodation.
We've been running Mix Hostel for 5 years now, with the great support from travelers and our dedication into hostel job, hostel has become one of the well-known backpacker's places in China. You might probably have seen our hostel's poster somewhere, or already got hostel's flyer or brochures from other travelers or hostels in China.
To save your time, I don't want to be wordy on "self-praise", I summarized a "10 reasons to stay with us" , check it out to see if it's reasonable for you to stay with us. ^^
1. Cheap. Save just 2 dollars a day can buy you an international air ticket back home after a year. We always offer the "rock bottom room rate" in Chengdu. Compare the price before you come.
2. Location. Hostel is not only located in downtown, but also close to city's oldest quarter "Wenshu Fang" and "Wenshu Temple" where you can easily find local food, tea house, hotpot restaurant. If you want to have a nice walk or hang out nearby hostel after dinner, and don't want to always get on a bus or taxi to somewhere interesting, Mix Hostel is your choice.
3. Staff. A bad staff can ruin everything no matter how fancy your hostel is, our staff is friendly being your first window to Chengdu and always at your service.
4. Easy to meet travelers. Our hostel only accommodates travelers, so you can always find someone to share your travel experience from the dorm or in hostel's communal area.
5. Free Internet and Wifi. Some travelers might have experienced in some hostels that paying more than the cost of a bed to use. It will be never happened in Mix Hostel, because it's free! If you travel with your laptop, the 24-hour access of Wifi will make you happy.
6. Convenient. Mix Hostel provides all necessary services for convenience. Hostel kitchen serves both western food and Sichuan local dishes, hostel bar serves cheap cold beer, ice-cream and cocktails, hostel information desk helps travelers to book tickets and tours, provides assistance for your travel plan. You can use free internet to get in touch with your family or kill a day in hostel's DVD room. In evening, hostel's courtyard and small garden becomes alive, you can bullshitting with travelers for whole night ^^
7. DVD room and books swap. Hostel's DVD room is open to travelers for 24-hour, hundreds of DVD including the latest movies are available for you to borrow. If you want to spend an easy day without doing anything, here will be your paradise. If you love reading books, you can borrow a book from hostel's library, of course it is free!
8. Western toilet. Hostel has both squat and western toilet for travelers to choose from ^^
9. Nice shower and hot drinking water. Hostel provides 3 hot drinking water machines on each floor, and the big volume water shower for 24-hour.
10. No Hotel! I don't know what you think about this, but for me, the Chinese hotel looks definitely cold and boring. Therefore, Mix hostel was set up since the beginning as a home-stay style, you won't feel like staying in a boring hotel, instead, you probably will come up with an illusion of living in a local friend's house, the living room (courtyard of Mix Hostel) is more like a small community.
