Argentinean football fans may want to look away now – earlier today I went to see River Plate play. It was one of the worst games of football I’ve ever watched. I now know why any decent Argentinean players leave for Europe.
They were playing a team called Lanus who weren’t much better. The quality of the football was just abysmal – no flair; no bits of skill. Just two good saves and one goal from a free kick.
I’m glad I went I have to say, but I wouldn’t be rushing to recommend people go to a game. Mind you, the singing does create a good atmosphere. It’s the done thing here in BA, so if you’re coming chances are you’re going to go. Just hope your game is better than this one.
