I visited Wrigleyville last night as this is where you will find Wrigley Field – home to the Chicago Cubs. Sadly, I didn’t manage to go to the game. I was just up there to get footage of the stadium. And to film inside in an official capacity you need to get permission from MLB (Major League Baseball) – I didn’t.

Today I wasn’t only on top of Chicago’s tallest building, but also North America’s tallest building. That, my friends, is The Willis Tower, formerly known as The Sears Tower. It is one of the top attractions in Chicago and it climbs 1,450 feet into the sky. The place where me and you can go is called Skydeck Chicago and is 100 feet below the top.

If you like the blues and you’re going to Chicago then good news. There are lots of top blues clubs in Chicago. Some are more touristy than others, namely House of Blues. But one which was recommended to me over and over again is Kingston Mines up in the Lincoln Park neighbourhood.

Today, for the upcoming video “10 things you need to know about Chicago”, which will be similar to our other “10 things” videos, I took a lot of shots of trains. The train here in Chicago, known as the subway, CTA and ‘L’, is an efficient service and makes getting around the city.

Of all the top attractions in Chicago, there is one I think I was looking forward to see more than any else. This is ‘Cloud Gate’, aka ‘The Bean’. Apparently the locals didn’t like it when it was first revealed. They soon came round though and now are extremely proud of their kidney-bean shaped landmark.

I asked the staff here at HI Chicago where I’m staying where is good for nightlife in Chicago and a lot of them said the same thing – check out Clark St up in Wrigleyville.

I’d been told before arriving in Chicago that I had to try two things – deep dish pizza and a ‘Chicago-style’ hot dog. I haven’t tried the former yet but last night I did try the latter...
