When I visited the Miniatur Wunderland today I wasn’t expecting it to be as busy as it was. I knew it housed model railways but I really wasn’t prepared for the scale of the operation.

As it was a bit overcast today in Hamburg, I decided to spend most of my time checking out indoor attractions. First though, I met with Bea Röttgers from the Hamburg Tourist Board to record a podcast which will appear on Hostelworld.com soon.

I arrived in New York City today. I’ve been lucky in terms of visiting there. I’ve been there pretty much every year for the last four years. Each time I try to do something new in terms of content and this time is no different. But before I got to work on that I had a meeting in MoMA (Museum of Modern Art), one of New York City’s top museums.

Of all the bars in Chicago I should visit, people who had been here before recommended I go to one in particular – the Signature Lounge on the 96th floor. Last night I went with a friend from my home town of Drogheda in Ireland.

When you see photographs of Chicago, its focal point is one of two skyscrapers. The first one is the Willis Tower (formerly known as the Sears Tower). The other is the John Hancock Center. It also has an observatory tower, imaginatively called John Hancock Observatory.
