Considering how big Hermanus is (this certainly isn’t the biggest place in the world), it’s got a pretty decent nightlife. Last night kicked off with a barbecue here in Hermanus Backpackers. At this moment in time I’d like to say thanks to JD, Barry and Melissa for putting on a serious meal last night. My steak was cooked to perfection!
Afterwards, along with a gang of Irish people I met here at the hostel (that’s Brian, Siobhan, Mairead and Sinead) and a few others we went into the town to see what’s going on here after dark.
First stop was Café El. It’s a quiet place and wouldn’t really recommend it. After that was Bojangles. This is a lot livelier, but a bit ‘cheesy’ as we’d say back home. From here we moved on to Shimmi which is a great club, and last but not least we checked out Barney’s. I’ve just been informed by Siobhan that it smelled of vomit. I didn’t notice to be honest. But that was our night.
Now it’s Sunday morning and our shark dive has been cancelled due to bad weather. All is not lost though – we’re going to go tomorrow morning bright and early at 6.45am!
