I met Ed and Martin from the hostel (Ed organises all the tours and Martin’s going to be working on the hostel website) and we went on a trip down to the Boardwalk in Port Elizabeth for some dinner.
On the way we made a couple of pitstops including the one I took advantage of when I snapped this picture of the city at dusk. It’s a great city this, really beautiful along the water and, as I learned over the course of the evening, lots of things to do too!
I have a busy few days ahead of me but I’m looking forward to it! Starting tomorrow with a trip to Addo Elephant Park and Schotia Game Park.
Back to tonight though! We had dinner at a place called Leonardos. Good Italian food with some particularly interesting gourmet pizzas. And again, all pretty reasonably priced.
Then it was on to some of Port Elizabeth’s numerous bars. We checked out Barney’s, which is an institution near the Boardwalk. Then it was off to Richmond Street where we visited a couple more places. This is an up and coming nightspot area and one to definitely look out for in the future. After that we checked out a really packed bar and club by the name of Balizza plus it’s slightly more chilled neighbour, Pool City.
A good time was had by all and yes, a shot known as a fluffy was consumed by all. That’s really all that needs to be said about that. Fluffy is actually a good name for the state of my brain just now as it’s just past midnight and it’s definitely time to go to sleep. Early start tomorrow!
