Ever since I saw ‘Jaws’ at the tender age of four I’ve been fascinated with sharks in general and great white sharks in particular. So it was with great anticipation that I boarded White Shark Africa’s ‘Shark Warrior’ for a cage diving day trip.
As chronicled in a previous post here, I made it into the water but not for long. Even though the swell freaked me out and I had to do most of my observation from up on deck, I still got some amazing views of the sharks.
After the trip, I sat down with Mike Ladley, the Education Programme Director with White Shark Africa to record the Hostelworld.com Mossel Bay podcast. In it, Mike describes what you can expect from a day trip of cage diving with White Shark Africa. He also speaks about the inquisitive nature of the great white shark, why they’re such an important inhabitant of our oceans and much more.
If you’re heading to Mossel Bay, I would really recommend a cage diving trip with White Shark Africa and to find out what you’re in for, listen to or download our Mossel Bay podcast.
