1. Ristorante Turrido

Across the road from Pisa’s Teatro Verdi, Capatosta is a great lunch spot thanks to the daily pasta specials it offers. These are written up on the chalk board outside each day, and a selection of cheap salads are also offered. Portions are pretty generous for the price and the service is both prompt and friendly.

3. Lo Sfizio
Acting as a bar, restaurant and café, Lo Sfizio is one of the most popular spots on Pisa’s well-trafficked Borgo Stretto. The menu here boasts a wide mix from coffees and pastries to pasta dishes and the ever-present gelato. Whether you stop here for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or just for a quick coffee, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere and equally welcoming prices.

4. Restaurant Duomo

6. Pizzeria Rusticanella
If you’re looking for cheap pizza served up quickly, then check out this pizzeria off Pisa’s main shopping stretch, Corso Italia. With large squares of pizza available at really low prices, this is a great spot to pick up a cheap and speedy lunch or dinner. You can choose from a variety of toppings, with some good value offers on a slice plus a drink. You can sit inside or outside with your slice, but these were really made to eat on the go, which is what you’ll see a lot of the locals doing.

7. Caffe Gambrinus
Thanks to its strong coffee and delicious pastries, this café and bar is a great spot for breakfast. At night, it morphs into a buzzing wine bar, with a huge selection of drinks available.

8. Ristorante Centrale Internazionale
Offering a selection of typical Tuscan dishes, the menu here is varied and great value, with a huge choice of pizzas, pasta dishes and more. While the decor may be pretty plain, the food is anything but making it well-worth a look for either lunch or dinner.

A funky restaurant with a chic interior, this restaurant close to Pisa’s Odeon cinema does some great offers including a cinema menu available at a special price. Dishes run the gamut from pasta to pizza to risotto, with a number of tasty desserts also on the menu.

10. Pizzeria Trattoria Toscana
Quite close to the Field of Miracles, this restaurant gets a lot of traffic thanks to its location. It also gets a lot of repeat business, and that’s thanks to the quality of its food. A great selection of both pizzas and pasta dishes make up just one section of the large menu. Staff try and tempt passersby from the entrance to the large outdoor seating area, touting their special offers like the set menus served up from as little as €9.
