I arrived in Buenos Aires today. It’s a really popular place with backpackers travelling to South America as along with Rio, Santiago and Lima, it’s a big ‘entry city’. There are many hostels here too, which means lots of cheap restaurants, busy bars and more.
I’m staying in Hostel Florida Suites on Florida in the middle of downtown BA (you’ll find most people call it that so I’m just conforming to the done thing). This is probably the main shopping street in the city and everything is close by – the Obelisk, Casa Rosada (that’s where Madonna crooned ‘Don’t Cry for me…’ in the movie ‘Evita’) and more.
My colleague Itziar is here in Buenos Aires at the moment. Along with her and Mario, the manager here, I’ve just come up with the ten things for the “10 things you need to know about…” video. It will be the first South American one, to go along with the seven that are already there. You’ll find out what those ten things are in due course.
Now I’m off to meet Wil and Mario for dinner. I’m stalking them around South America.
In our hostelworld.com travel blog we bring you all the latest company news and information on new additions to the site including podcasts, videos and more. You'll also get inside information on a variety of destinations across the globe as they're visited by our travel editor and writers.
