1. Discovering local foods on the road - the next 'Hostelworld Hangout' topic

   There are many ways to embrace the local culture when travelling. You can meet the people, explore different neighbourhoods, see the sights and more. Another is food - if you eat live how the locals live and experience a destination the same way they do you have to try the local food. Somebody who knows this all too well is Jodi Ettenberg of LegalNomads.com - that's why I'm looking forward to discussing the topic with her on the next Hostelworld Hangout which takes place later today at 12.15pm EST/4.15pm GMT.

   I've been lucky enough to have met Jodi a number of times over the last few years so I'm really looking forward to discussing how she enjoys food in all the destinations she's visited (she's been to a lot of places). Another reason I'm looking forward to the hangout is because Jodi has actually written a book on the subject - The Food Traveller's Handbook, a book which, in Jodi's words, 'provides a compelling argument for using food as a primary focus in discovering the world'.

   How do I join in one of the Hostelworld Hangouts?

   To ask questions you can either comment in the box below the streaming video or ask us on Twitter using the #HostelworldHT hashtag. We’ll answer your comments live in the hangout, and if not we’ll answer them in the comments of the YouTube video – each Hangout will create a video which will be on our video channel.
