To round off checking out the main attractions in Hamburg, I went to visit the Tierpark Hagenbeck and the Tropical Aquarium Hagenbeck. Both the zoo and the aquarium are on the same site, which can be reached by U-Bahn in about 20 minutes from the city centre.

If you’re looking for panoramic views of Hamburg, you’ll definitely want to add a trip to either St. Michaelis or St. Nikolai to your to do list for your stay in the city.

It’s true, Hamburg is a very green city and this is abundantly clear in Planten un Blumen, a gorgeous park close to the towering Fernsehturm.

When I visited the Miniatur Wunderland today I wasn’t expecting it to be as busy as it was. I knew it housed model railways but I really wasn’t prepared for the scale of the operation.

As it was a bit overcast today in Hamburg, I decided to spend most of my time checking out indoor attractions. First though, I met with Bea Röttgers from the Hamburg Tourist Board to record a podcast which will appear on Hostelworld.com soon.
