Hostel of the Week: Ark Hostel, Osaka, Japan

Hostel of the Week: Ark Hostel, Osaka, Japan

Ark Hostel1-15-11 Edobori, Nishi-ku, OsakaJapan

This sailor-themed joint opened in July and already has a 9.3 superb rating. It’s located in Higobashi near the centre of Osaka in Japan, the uber-modern city known for its energetic night life, down to earth locals and jaw-dropping architecture. And if you love food, you’ve hit the jackpot –  this is a place that encourages you to loosen your belt a few notches and “kuidaore” (‘eat ’til you drop’). Our kind of city!

The hostel has mixed dorms and female dorms, all decorated in a modernized Japanese style with tatami floors. The bunk beds are not only huge, they also have snazzy curtains, reading lights and power sockets so you can have some me-time with a good book or sail away in to a cosy, deep sleep. Each room has an en-suite and Ark’s bathrooms are as cheerful as they come and are all equipped with hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner AND soap – spoilt!

And who could forget the sociable dinning space, café, and common room with a TV open 24 hours?!

Here’s what our travellers had to say:

“One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in, brand new, very comfortable and brand new. Location is a short train ride into the heart of Osaka!”

“Brand new hostel. Great place for meeting friends from all over.”

“Everything was just perfect. The beds are super comfy”
