    Hostelworld.com picks up two awards at British Youth Travel Awards

    Last Friday night was a good night for Hostelworld.com. We won not one, but two awards at the annual British Youth Travel Awards - Best Use of Social Media and Best Support Services Offer.

    Along with Assistant Editor Rebecca Keenan, I manage all of Hostelworld.com's social media. So to all of you who 'like' our facebook page, follow us on Twitter, watch our videos on YouTube and read this blog, thank you. If it wasn't for the way we interact with you guys on both those sites, we probably wouldn't have won the social media award.

    'Best Support Services Offer' is another huge achievement which we are all very proud of. We work hard to ensure we offer backpackers all over the world the best possible service. So along with the facility to book hostels, you can book tours, download free city guides in all formats, connect with friends in 'MyWorld', buy travel insurance and much more.

    Unfortunately we weren't there to pick up the awards. Weather officially got the better of us. Hostelworld HQ is in Dublin and we're snowed under. But we're still as happy as we would've been if we'd collected them. Thanks to BETA UK for organising the awards and here's to more in the future.
