    This afternoon I headed out to the Waterfall with a group from Island Vibe. The waterfall itself is down to a trickle because of the current drought, but there’s still a deep pool underneath. Perfect for jumping into, as you can see from the photo.

    In my last post I mentioned Ntisko and his cousin Chris who I met on the township tour. Well, I saw Chris again at Island Vibe later on this evening where he performed with a group of kids known as the African Celebration Dancers.

    There I was, my alarm all set for 5am. I was going to get up, watch the sunrise and hopefully catch a glimpse of the pod of dolphins who apparently swim past the hostel most mornings at this time. Did I wake up with my alarm? No.

    Once I got back to Island Vibe yesterday evening, I ran into Ed who suggested we go check out Supertubes. It’s one of the area’s best surfing spots and there’s a pretty cool beach to walk along too.

    Down on Main Beach, Island Vibe holds surfing lessons for any aspiring surfers staying at the hostel. Dale was the instructor working today and he had two pupils out in the surf.
