Easily Lima’s best-known neighbourhood (and safest reportedly) is Miraflores. This is where Albergue Miraflores House is located. It’s also where you’ll find most of the hostels in Lima.
The neighbourhood is on the coast, so once I walked out of the hostel, took a right and went straight ahead I’d reach the ocean. Here paragliders fly over the cliffs and tourists come to admire the view. If you don’t want to go paragliding you should definitely check it out if just to watch the surfers (you need to go down to the beach) or walk the cliff walk which leads into Baranco, where you will find lots of other hostels.
I took a few shots (both still and video) and then went for a bite to eat. Ended up in Shihedo. If you’re looking for a pizza, some pasta or barbecued food this is where to go. It’s right on Parque Kennedy (the heart of Miraflores) and is good value. Now it’s back to the hostel as I believe Francis has a night tour organised.
In our hostelworld.com travel blog we bring you all the latest company news and information on new additions to the site including podcasts, videos and more. You'll also get inside information on a variety of destinations across the globe as they're visited by our travel editor and writers.
