    My first meal and night in Santiago

    If you’re looking for pasta, a pizza, sandwich or steak in Bellavista, try Restaurant Venezia on Pio Nono. It’s a real rustic place and good value. The salsa they give you with the bread is to die for. I was eating spoonfuls of it on its own it was that nice.

    When I returned from dinner I met Gonzalo who owns Bellavista Hostel and went to the roof garden for a couple of beers. He’s a cool guy. I met him a few years back when his other hostel La Chimba was voted top hostel in Latin America and third best hostel in the world.

    Unfortunately I ended up having one too many, as along with Gonzalo I was chatting with an Aussie guy Matt who’s from Tully in northeast Queensland, his girlfriend Steph and two German girls from Hamburg.

    Now its 9am, my head is a tiny bit sore and in one hour I’ve to interview a press officer for a podcast. If only I didn’t have that one last beer.
