    New York travel bloggers – travel talk and beers

    Over the last six months I’ve started to use Twitter a lot more than ever before. Both from the @hostelworld account and also from my own @colmhanratty account. Through this, I’ve got to know a few people. Last night I met them as part of a ‘tweet up’. Sounds sad I know, but it turned out to be a great night.

    Those who were there included @brooklynnomad, @scenebylaurie, @eurocheapo and @notfortourists. Over the evening we spoke about different things. Obviously a lot of it was work related, but a lot of it wasn’t.

    That’s what I enjoyed so much about last night. Before now they were people who I know mainly from ‘tweets’ consisting of no more than 140 characters. I also dealt with some of them on email, but generally it was on Twitter. But now I know the real person behind those Twitter ‘handles’. Look forward to meeting more of them in the future.
