After sampling one good street for nightlife in Chicago, last night I decided to sample another one – Division Street, and in particular Division between Dearborn and Slate near the Clark/Division subway stop on the red line.
While this is only one block, there are a heap of bars to be found here. There’s a small bar called The Lodge which attracts an older clientele, and then you’ve got Shenanigan’s House of Beers which is an Irish bar with nothing Irish about it. Across the road from there is Finn McCool’s which is the same. And another is Mother’s Too which is a bit of a dive bar, but is fun nonetheless.
If you’re planning a trip to Chicago and are wondering where to go out at night, take our advice – Division between Dearborn and Slate is where it’s at.
