    While I’ve been here in Ottawa, I’ve been staying at the HI-Ottawa Jail Hostel on Nicholas Street. This is a pretty unique hostel as it’s located inside a former prison.

    One of the top attractions here in Ottawa is the Rideau Canal which was built back in the early 1800s. Today I recorded a podcast about this 202-kilometre long canal with Pam and Paul from Parks Canada.

    After taking two trains, I arrived in Ottawa today from Quebec City. Here in Ottawa I’m staying at the HI-Ottawa Jail Hostel which is housed in a building that operated as a jail for more than 100 years.
