Every Friday travellers on Twitter go crazy uploading their photos as part of '#FriFotos' – a weekly photo forum run by @EpsteinTravels, @TravelDesigned and @CharlesYap where people share images on Twitter using that very hashtag and a common theme. I used to share images individually, but have now decided to write a weekly post with a group of images instead.
This week’s theme is bridges. Here’s some of my favourite images of bridges I’ve taken over the years…
Freedom Bridge, Budapest

I only took this last week. I love Budapest, and it’s bridges. This isn’t its best known bridge, but it’s my favourite shot of all the images I took when I was there.
Under the bridge at the Bethesda Fountain, New York City

New Yorkers will recognise this view. You can just about see ‘The Mall’ in the world’s most famous city centre park in front of you.
The Ponte Vecchio, Florence at dusk

One of the best places to catch a sunset in Europe is in Florence’s Piazzale Michelangelo where you will enjoy this view. Stunning.
Statues looming over Charles Bridge, Prague

I took this in Prague in November. It was pretty cold standing there with my tripod, but worth it for the shots I got like this one.
A train crosses Cologne’s Hohenzollern Bridge at night

I can’t claim this one – it was taken by ex-Hostelworlder Rebecca Keenan. It’s a great shot.
The Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco

I wasn’t sure whether or not to put in the standard postcard one of the most famous bridge on the west coast of the states, but thought it was as good an image as any to add.
The Queensboro Bridge, New York City

This was a bridge I only discovered after my 4th of 5th time to NYC. I was lucky enough to take a picture of it just before dusk.
Tower Bridge, London

Recently I toured London with Kirsten Alana @kirstenalana when she was guest photographer for the day (London as seen by Instagram By Kirsten Alana). This is just one of the photos she took that day.
Samuel Beckett Bridge, Dublin

I could hardly write a post like this and not include Dublin, now could I? I was greeted with this sunrise one morning and thought it was good enough to pull over for. That’s what I did and this is the result.
Bloukrans Bridge, Plettenberg Bay

Another shot by ex-writer Rebecca, this time during a trip of South Africa.
From the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney

My favourite city in the world is Sydney without any shadow of a doubt. I love it. So when I had the chance to climb the harbour bridge (more on this here) I jumped at the chance. Here’s the proof I made it to the top.
To see other #FriFotos, make sure to follow the hashtag. Looking forward to finding out what next week’s theme is.
