Going for a stroll through the English Market is one of my favourite things to do in Cork. Hugely popular with locals, this market is home to a large selection of stalls selling all kinds of food. Many of them offer free samples, which is great if you’re feeling peckish as you wander around.
Cork is one of the coolest Irish cities for a short break, thanks to is welcoming vibe and fantastic selection of things to do. I’ve visited there a couple of times for work, once to gather information and photos for our free Cork pocket guide, and then again to film our Cork video postcard.
I also recorded our Cork podcast at the English Market. Have a listen and you’ll find out about the history of this unique spot, why it’s so popular and more.
During your stay in Cork, make sure to check out some of the city’s great bars including Fred Zeppelins, a fantastic rock bar on Parliament Street.
In our hostelworld.com travel blog we bring you all the latest company news and information on new additions to the site including podcasts, videos and more. You'll also get inside information on a variety of destinations across the globe as they're visited by our travel editor and writers.
