During my trip to South Africa last year I was lucky enough to spend some time in a beautiful seaside town called Plettenberg Bay. It’s one of many possible stops along the hugely popular Garden Route. I’d definitely recommend you check it out. Not only does it have beautiful beaches like the one you can see here, the town also has some great restaurants and lots of nearby attractions.
If you’re a bit of an adrenaline junkie, you’ll want to make your way to the Bloukrans Bridge and go bungee jumping at one of the world’s highest commercial jumps. I didn’t do the jump but I did have a go at the Flying Fox which is just as awesome as it sounds. Have a look at our Plett video postcard or download our free Plett pocket guide to find out more about the jump and other cool things to do in the area.
The beach pictured here is Keurbooms Beach, located around 10 kilometres from the centre of Plett. While the waves might get a bit wild for swimming, it’s definitely a great spot for sunbathing or just strolling along the strand. Also, check out the cool wooden boardwalk where you’ll get fantastic views out towards the sea.
