Warsaw is one of my favourite cities in Eastern Europe. I loved wandering around the city to check out all the attractions, including the Palace of Culture and Science or Palac Kultury I Nauki w Warszawie, pictured here. This huge building is one of the best places to get amazing views of the city, so grab your camera and head up to the viewing terrace on the 30th floor.

Designed by Indian-born English sculptor Anish Kapoor, Cloud Gate is one of Chicago's best-known landmarks. It lends itself to a host of quirky photographs of distorted reflections of either yourself or the skyline, and it gives you an excuse to visit one of the city's best-loved parks, Millennium Park. I was surprised when I read though, that the locals didn't like it when it was first unveiled.

I've said before on numerous times on this blog that Sydney is my favourite city in the world. There are many reasons for this - the beaches; the spectacular sights; the nightlife. Another is the harbour. I love being beside the water, and when I lived there over ten years ago, once a week I treated myself to a trip home on one of the city's ferries.

Last Friday, our photo of the day was of a view that really blew me away. Today's is of a similar view, this time of Table Mountain in Cape Town from Bloubergstrand. That's where you get the perfect postcard shot of the city's most iconic landmark.

Every now and then you see something special where you have what can only be described as a 'moment'. One of these places for me was Cerro Campanario near Bariloche on the fringe of Argentina's Patagonia region. According to National Geographic it's one of the 'top ten views in the world'. Looking at this photo you can see why.

While I was in Manchester, I made the short trip out to the ‘World Famous Bury Market’. Hop on the tram in the city centre and you’ll be out there in no time at all. A smorgasbord of locally-sourced treats awaits you there, from fruits like the shiny apples you can see here to creamy cheeses, fresh seafood and more. Definitely one for the ‘foodies’ out there.

During my trip to South Africa last year I was lucky enough to spend some time in a beautiful seaside town called Plettenberg Bay. It’s one of many possible stops along the hugely popular Garden Route. I’d definitely recommend you check it out. Not only does it have beautiful beaches like the one you can see here, the town also has some great restaurants and lots of nearby attractions.

You've seen the photo hundreds of times. You know the one? The shot of a long boat parked up on a beach somewhere in Thailand, probably on an island such as Ko Phi Phi or Ko Samui. Don't get me wrong - it's a great shot. If you're going to Thailand make sure to get take it. But don't forget to tell the story of the person who drives it also.

I've seen lots of things in my travels over the last twelve years or so, but unquestionably one of the most overwhelming sights I've ever witnessed (or smelt or heard for that matter) was on an island not far from Lima, capital of Peru.

One of the best ways to see the Riga is to head up to the Skyline bar at the top of the Reval Hotel Latvija on Elizabetes street. Not only does the bar boast pretty incredible views of the city, it also serves up a colourful selection of cocktails in comfy surroundings. It’s a great spot to go and watch the sun set over the city, then watch as Riga lights up at night.
