This morning I set out from Old Town Hostel Split and made my way towards, Marjan which is a high hill overlooking the city.
I started out from Riva and walked along by the water until I arrived at the steps leading up the hill. There are quite a few steps to climb on the way up but it’s definitely worth it. Once you reach the first look out point, you’ll be treated to stunning views out over the city as you can see from the picture here.
That’s just the beginning though, as Marjan has plenty of other attractions to tempt visitors away from the centre of Split. I saw plenty of walkways, a couple of old churches and even more amazing views of the city, the ocean and the surrounding areas.
Once I’d made my way back down from Marjan, I headed for a sandwich place called Rizzo’s to get some lunch. The rolls are freshly baked and mine came hot out of the oven. I had ham, cheese and tomato on it, but there were lots and lots of other toppings too. Really reasonably priced too.
It’s a small little hole-in-the-wall kind of place with no seating inside. There are a couple of tall tables with stools outside, but probably the best way to enjoy one of these delicious sandwiches is to take it with you. A great spot for picking up a handy, cheap and tasty lunch.
