Paris has the Eiffel Tower; Cairo has the Pyramids…Cape Town has Table Mountain. This mountain that looms over central Cape Town and numerous suburbs is unquestionably this city’s top attraction.
Yesterday evening, upon return from the wine region, I went there as the sky was clear, the sun was just about to set, and sunsets up there are meant to be unforgettable. I wasn’t let down. Arriving about 30 minutes before sunset, I was lucky enough to catch it. Breathtaking? Oh yeah...
By the time I made it back down it was dark. The queue to get down can get just as lengthy as the one on the first trip. That is how I got the snap with this post. This, ladies and gentlemen, is Cape Town at night, sparkling in all its glory.
It’s now 8.23am. Dedication or what?! Well, that and the fact that I woke up at 7.20am and couldn’t get back to sleep. It’s raining outside, but Brendan from the hostel has assured me that it’s going to clear up. I hope he’s right.
