The 2013 Hostel Awards are almost here...who do you think will win?

    Feb192013

We're getting very excited around here at Hostelworld HQ...it's almost time for our 11th annual Hostel Awards!

This is the time of year when we dust off our glad rags and put on a glitzy awards ceremony to reward the absolute finest hostels in the world.

But why should you care? Well, first of all, we're the most trusted hostel-booking website and our awards are the original and the best. Secondly and most importantly, the hundreds of thousands of reviews that you provided last year all count towards who will win the top prizes at the 2013 Hostel Awards. Thanks to your input, your fellow travellers can know where the greatest places are and the hostels themselves get a gorgeous award to show off. And with so many categories, you can be sure to find the best accommodation for any kind of trip.

In fact, check out last year's winners - we awarded everything from the Best Hostel Chain to the 10 Best Small Hostels in the World.

We'll be announcing the winners in real-time on February 21st on Twitter, so whether you're travelling to London, Budapest, Rio de Janeiro or beyond, from Thursday you can find out what's been picked as the cream of the crop worldwide.

So keep an eye out...we'll be announcing this year's winners on Thursday. Planning a trip soon and fancy staying at an award-winning hostel? Follow us on Twitter @hostelworld and follow the #hostelawards hashtag to see the results as they come in.

Hostel One Sants in Barcelona has definitely been the best hostels I have ever stayed in!! The staff (Linda, Luis, and the others) are very very welcoming and actually talk and joke around with you! As soon as you arrive, it is like you have known them for a long time already. Breakfast is great and very very cheap, and the free dinner is delicious and you eat like a giant family because all the other people staying in the hostel come down to eat together. I also really liked the fact that you can use the kitchen as you please! The atmosphere was very upbeat and energized. The fact that the staff was very involved with our stay and not awkwardly friendly is what made Hostel One Sants in Barcelona the best hostel I've been to.
