After a meeting this morning with Shelbey from HI-Vancouver Central, we hopped on a bus and headed out to the popular Vancouver neighbourhood of Kitsilano.
Not only is Kitsilano home to top attractions like the Museum of Vancouver and the H.R. McMillan Space Centre, it’s also where you’ll find the hugely popular Kitsilano beach. Unfortunately, it’s very grey and rainy here in Vancouver today so I wasn’t able to take any video. However, despite the weather, a few hardy souls were still to be seen strolling or jogging along the shore.
We arrived in Kitsilano right around lunchtime and, on a suggestion from Shelbey, stopped in at Vera’s Burger Shack for what turned out to be some seriously delicious food.
Vera’s, which you’ll find at a few different locations in the city including Kitsilano, Davie Street and more, is something of an institution here in Vancouver. After sampling one of their giant burgers, I can totally understand why it’s such a popular and award-winning spot.
As I’ve said, the burgers are huge and you can choose from a wide variety of toppings. They also sell hot dogs but it’s definitely the burgers people come here for. I had a cheese burger and sweet potato fries (pictured here) and found it really reasonably priced for the amount of food you get.
We left the burger joint pleasantly full and ready to head to the Museum of Vancouver to check out the exhibits.
