Toronto, which is the largest city in Canada, was the second last stop of my Canadian adventure last year. By the time I got there, I’d walked around Vancouver, Montréal, Québec City and Ottawa. So it was with no small amount of relief that I discovered Toronto’s impressive and easy to use public transport system.

One of the things I wanted to check out on my last day here in Toronto was the Ontario Science Centre because I’d heard great things about the exhibits. I am so glad I made the trip out to visit because it really was one of the highlights of my stay.

This evening I headed down to the Air Canada Centre here in Toronto to go to an ice hockey game. The Toronto Maple Leafs were playing the Ottawa Senators and the Leafs won 5-1.

One of the best things to do during a visit to this city is to take a trip out to the Toronto Islands like I did today. This small chain of islands is only about 10 minutes by ferry from downtown Toronto.

If you head to Toronto you’ll soon learn that it’s a city of neighbourhoods, from Greektown to Yorkville and many more besides. One area you should really try to check out during your stay is simply called The Beach.

My first trip on one of Toronto’s streetcars was an interesting affair. As we neared Dundas Square, which is this city’s version of Times Square, traffic slowed to a crawl. After I hopped off the car, I realised why.
