Hi, I am from Spain, I am going to travel to Belgium in August, I have booked a hostel in hostelworld, but now I have a problem because the hostel asks me to send the CVV number from my credit card in order to guarantee the reservation, but I dont like to send a sensitive data for a so insecured way that is email, So is it absoluty necesary to send that number, is that normal? I'm about a month away from going round Europe with my boyfriend interrailing for the summer. i'm at the stage now of sorting things out and I'm just wondering whether people have any suggestions about which kind of card to take round Europe? (Eg Matercard, Visa, Maestro?) I don't particually want to get a mastercard, just because I probably couldn't trust myself with not overspending. If anybodies got any suggestion, I would really appreciate it. Cheers.

I am heading to Israel for work (one week), then I am going to head off on my own to Egypt to trekk, dive, site see, and of course ride a camel. I have been reading up on it, but now I am looking for 'practical' advice, and any suggestions of where to go, and where not to go as a solo female traveler.
