General impressions
December 24th 2006, New York, USA
I had the opportunity to go to the USA in July for the first time and I will always thank the person who allowed me to do that cos it was unforgettable!
New York is such a big city, full of various people, places, foods that we only saw a small part of it, a week is too short!
What struck me the most is the "démesure", meaning all is done with excess (it's not always negative) compared to my old Europe :-)
The climate is the same: we experienced a heat wave, then a tropical storm, then heat again, wow!
I must say that American people are charming and helpful, contrary to what we can notice in big cities, as opposed to the rudeness of some of my fellows ;-)

Well-located hostel (in the 96th street in Manhattan), 3 lines of metro serve it and go downtown at the very centre of the city. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are clean, the staff is nice and the price is really ok! |

Of course you must like cultural activities to enjoy this one :-) But it's really worth it! Very big museum full of treasures, well-organized and informed, located in Central Park and cheap (10$ for students) |
Top Tip:
Always carry a map! It's not difficult to locate a spot in NY but it's soooo big!
