Four more sleeps and we’re off to Spain. Hello, my name is Kameko, you can just call me Meko and this is the beginning of the Gypsy Cat Diaries. I have never traveled much before and until quite recently was content with traversing the backyard in search of mice and on really exciting days lucky enough to chase the odd squirrel. My favorite pastime has been to find a sunny spot on the deck and snooze and lounge while watching the world go by. Now it seems my little world has been turned upside down as my owner has decided to take me along on her adventure. She thinks it will be good for me to experience new things and see new sites. I really have no choice but let me assure you I see things quite differently and my account of our travels is unlikely to be anything like hers. My first question of course was to ask: what should a feline pack when traveling. I am watching her as she packs her suitcase…what in the heck does she need all that stuff for? Creams, lotions and potions, pencils, papers and books and scarves and locks and socks and what is this…a leash…ha is she in for a surprise, I’ll not be having anything to do with that thing. I wonder if they will give me a window seat on the plane, I’m a little nervous of heights and I’ve only ever thrown up when I eat too fast…I’ll just eat one bowl of food the day of the flight…I usually like at least two…don’t be assuming I’m fat cause really I’m not…you ought to know it is winter here and it’s very important to have a little extra body fat to keep warm. Oh I should tell you what I look like, I have grey fur which is very soft and cuddly and I’m a little round in the middle and have these gorgeous grey green eyes that you’ll fall in love with. I love pretty much everyone and everything although I especially love food. Some of my favorite things are milk, pancakes, tuna of course and orange mango yogurt. Well I’m pretty much pooped from watching her pack and repack and arrange and rearrange…it’s time for a nap. I’ll catch up with you later.
